The Mater Eternity Seating Collection
With Earth Day just around the corner, the new Eternity Collection for Mater is a breath of fresh air. Boasting both a beautiful design and a thoughtful commitment to sustainability, Eternity challenges the way we look at furniture design and its impact on the environment. With this unique seating collection, Mater shows that it's possible to reduce, reuse, and recycle without compromising style and quality.
MADE OF E-WASTE
E-waste is a growing environmental concern with only 17.4% of total global e-waste known to have been collected and properly recycled. This figure has dropped over the last five years as a percentage of total waste generated. With this in mind, Mater’s patented waste material “Matek” - which combines a waste fibre with a waste plastic - will now incorporate e-waste, in combination with either coffee waste or wood waste, into the production of the Eternity Collection. Mater’s mission has always been to reduce the use of virgin materials and instead use as much recycled materials as possible in their production. And now, with the inclusion of e-waste in each Eternity Chair, Mater is working to reduce the global e-waste problem.
Each Eternity Chair recycles 4330 grams of waste material.

A VERSATILE, SCULPTURAL DESIGN
Eternity chairs combine comfort, functionality and durability with industrial, sculptural features. The shells are made of Mater's Matek waste-based material and are available with or without upholstery. Designed to fit a range of styles and spaces for both private and public use, Eternity is available as a side chair, armchair, swivel chair, and high stool.
More and more luxury furniture designers like Mater are finding innovative ways to reduce their impact on the environment while maintaining a high standard of style and quality. The Eternity Collection proves that sustainability and reusing waste in place of virgin resources can be a beautiful thing.
