New Lighting from Louis Poulsen

Fall 2016 product launches are happening now and we want to bring three very special releases from Louis Poulsen to your attention.

This season Louis Poulsen is launching a mini-version of the iconic Panthella lamp with a diameter of 10". The Panthella Mini Table Lamp features painted metal shades in ten eye-popping colors from designer Verner Panton's own color spectrum and one opal white acrylic finish.

dinesen-07_1 Panton-fever is still going strong. Verner Panton originally developed the Panthella lamp in 1971. He wanted to have the Panthella launched with a metal shade, but this was not technologically possible at that time. In 2016 Louis Poulsen has re-launched the Panthella Lamp, with its trumpet-shaped foot, to become a true design icon with a colourful edge to it.

Louis Poulsen has also launched a new series of pendant lamps in collaboration with the Swedish designer and graphic artist Clara Von Zweigbergk. The striking aluminium CIRQUE Collection includes three colour combination in three sizes.

cirque-_rhus-05 The CIRQUE Collection was inspired by a trip to Tivoli in Copenhagen. Tivoli is full of carousels, candyfloss makers and wheels of fortune. When an object spins round very fast, the colours merge and end up being perceived as horizontal bands of colour. All these impressions resulted in a vibrant design which unites unconventional colours and forms in a series of truly innovative lamps which will add both edge and charisma to their surroundings – both in daylight and when lit.

Another 2016 release from Louis Poulsen is the VL45 Radiohus Pendant Lamp, designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen in the 1930s, for the construction of the Radiohuset building in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen. With its powerful downwards light combined with gentler illumination via the opal glass – which generates softer tones in the room – it is simply ideal for illuminating both everyday objects and more decorative items.

Classic and beautiful, the globe shade is made of smooth opal glass and almost completely encases the light source emitting a beautiful, diffuse, glare-free illumination.
